Graphic T-Shirts

 

i am 

tickled to define these ideas .

Blazer Graphic Tee

. love the look of a tee under a blazer . 

graphic tees under a blazer bug me because i can't view the graphics, which in itself is a cool experience because it evoked my curiosity . 

which led me to ponder—and delightfully imagine—designing and experiencing people wearing legible graphic tees designed to pair with a blazer; 

moreover

Frame Lapels

             blazers 

           with lapels 

     that actually look                              like   gilded 

              picture  frames 

                       or textured                and   or  quilted 

           or puffed up, plush,             to hint,     or expand upon 

                      ... or perhaps             literally   

                                                        as a wood carved 

                                                        lapel 

                               frame .

My first imagining is for simple words written vertically:

*when the blazer frame is moved aside, perhaps to fetch a bit from a pocket, the wearer gets to see the tag line—i don't know how to here and aren't going to spend the time now to discover—reads upside down . or as Goose would say "inverted."

an intimate reminder . an awareness tool .

i wrote it backwards, because it current(3)ly is possible ;D 

and it looks really weird! 

thus evoking aforementioned 

                           curiosity .

which reinvigorates an idea i've had for a reversible Shirt of Opposition a fun awareness tool to play with—because IT IS possible—as in we have the power and ability to choose our current thoughts ... and also in this case how we want to wear our shirt, what we want our shirt to say ... can have a lot of fun with this tool .

. loving the sensations of both of these (it wasn't always so) and i love the idea of being able, and actually choosing, to physically shift them around throughout the day ... I'd stick with the inverted tagline too, it's cool and use-full .

Priscilla's Pickle Palace

I was recently invited to a birthday Pickleball party. I had no idea what it was and too many funny thoughts and ideas flowed into me, so I decided it was the perfect opportunity to have a go at constructing the first (to my knowledge) and only pickle sculpture.

I would have loved to go for a 360 degree perspective but even well-drained pickles are too flimsy to stand up to the weight...

Of course I always have to play with the photo editing on my phone...

... the inevitable collaspe 

I do think this would make a good substitute asana in yoga for the Shavasana at the end of one's practice (I always feel quite tangled and, well, just falling apart/short seems a little more accurate "death" than neatly getting comfortable...  -

 " ...and we will now conclude our practice with the Pickle Posehavsana-manamama, so just collapse from here and feel it! ...

Welding Wonder - Spherical Orientation Scultures

More. More! MORE!

I can't seem to get enough dimensions to play with.
My unquenchable thirst for the challenge, innovation and complexity of constructing sculptures that offer not just a 360 degree orientation but a spherical one, has (for quite some time) had me wondering about welding...
and metal...
and yes,
their relationship to powder coating.  They just seem like a friendly, little love triangle - and as Stephanie Meyer knows, those are a lot of fun to work with as a creative medium.

Eric introduced me to MIG welding this weekend.

...and of course I have to play with photography a bit while capturing some of the spherical orientation possibilities of one of the pieces.  

I look forward to doing some photos later after the pieces are powder coated:

 playing with shadows, 

displaying them on mirrors, 

photographing them with other objects 

and grouping them together into a bigger structure (yum, more composition play!)
