Photography Session with Christopher Dale - Album Cover

Had a great, creative play date with a wonderful musician Christopher Dale - we took inspiration whilst listening to his upcoming album, featuring 2-time San Diego Music Awards Winner Elise Ohki "Wood & Strings." He brought the strings and I pulled items together for collage and an up close photo shoot. I took so many photos! I just loved all the yummy layers available to work with.

I am grateful for the opportunity and to attend the release party.... such talented artists and wonderful people.

C.D. plays live a lot and always offers memorable moments to enjoy.

CD is available EXCLUSIVELY through Christopher Dale's website HEREand at live shows.

The stripped down production using acoustic guitar, violin and upright bass, lets the lyrics lead the way.

Upcoming Poetry Publication

I am honored to have the poem "None the Less" included in A Year in Ink, Volume 9.

Updates will be provided on the publication date of the anthology through the Writer's Ink website and Facebook pages in the weeks to come.

The anthology reading and launch party is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7th at Cygnet’s Old Town Theatre, San Diego California.

A Year in Ink (YII) is an anthology of the creative work of San Diego County writers, published each year by San Diego Writers, Ink. The annual publication represents a sampling of the tangible results of our community’s diligent scribblers.
Volume 9 will include short stories, novel and memoir excerpts, creative nonfiction, satire, flash fiction, and poetry. Every year our Anthology authors are a diverse group, young and old, new writers and much-published veterans.
SDWI receives numerous submissions each summer; A Year in Ink follows a blind submission process; authors are not identified until the selection process ends.

Holiday Swag Creations

I've wanted to make a peace wreath for some time.
I chose to make it with faux greens so that we can use it every year - although I should use it year round and keep decorating it with different themes... 'cause peace is a year-round gig!

I used the discarded tree cuttings from a local Christmas tree lot to make the base.
Clipped natural branches from plants and trees.
Collected pinecones when I came across them throughout the year and reused them from previous creations.
Used florist wire to tie everything together.
Bows and ornaments can be removed after the season and reused again.
A little spritz of spray paint glitter sprinkles it with magic.

These are fun to make and leave on your friend's and family's doors or fences as a festive surprise!

I am excited to participate in this years Maker Faire in San Diego sharing the recycled material LED lights I made with the generous help of Nick Lonack.  If your in the area, October 3 - 4, I highly recommend checking it out.
There are a lot of hands on making experiences available and I hear Ann Onimouse is going to bring the Wonder Car (a painted pink Jaguar - to say the least) to this show and share event.
There are plenty of free activities to enjoy without ticketed entry!

What is Maker Faire?
Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth — a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement.
Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.

Boules Queen Square ~ Drottningtorget

next to me
under a flowered bonnet
a few sizes too small
he enjoys
secretly
the sharp edged coffee as it dances
ever so often      with his gelato’s velvet glaze

a slow,  sultry serenade of taste

he savors along - all the while
Van Gogh’s sunflowers are chain smoking ciggys on the park bench next to us
and the Herbarium is trying, desperately, not  to  cough.
(she’s so polite)...

I’m just sitting here,

waiting

          for a ride

  pretending to watch the lawn
                                                            bowling.

Favorite Rainy Day Perch in Malmo Sweden

mr. sky's canvas, now grays n blues.
lighted pops and rolling symphonies
paraded too quickly - bye.
down pours demand attention from jacketed guests
and
sir pigeon
perches close-by my opened window
purring rhythmic mantras that only i can hear...
